The jejunum is the second part of the small intestine (after the duodenum). It forms approximately the upper 2/5 (3 metres) of the small intestine. The coils of the jejunum tend to settle in the upper part of the abdominal cavity, below the stomach, and to the left of the ileum, though there is no sharp demarcation between the jejunum and ileum. The jejunum is supplied by the mesenteric vessels.
