Autoimmune gastritis
From IKE
Autoimmune gastritis (AIG) is a type of chronic gastritis that affects the body and fundus of the stomach only and causes inflammation, intestinal metaplasia and atrophy of the gastric glands. AIG is associated with other Category:autoimmune diseases and with the presence of a variety of autoantibodies, including antibodies to parietal cells and intrinsic factor. Lack of intrinsic factor impairs the absorption of vitamin B12 and results in pernicious anemia.
